Modelling is not as easy as it looks, the model has to know how to act or how to change his or her mood, some times the model has to stay in a uncomfortable position. For photographers models are just an object in-front of the camera, this doesn't change the fact that the model is still a human. So try to make them feel comfortable. How ? take little breaks on the photo shoot when model has to be in a complicated positions, or have a blanket or two if its a bikini shoot in studio, to keep model warm.

When you are choosing the model, you need to tell: what he/she will be wearing, where the shoot will be, what she will be doing. If he/she agree with the terms, confirm the time and date.
